You can take it apart to fully clean. I sanitized it by placing all pieces in boiling water for a few minutes. Haven't used it because my baby isn't here yet, but I did try it on its own. The simple enough mechanism seems to work perfectly! Nose aspirator arrived really fast! Nothing is damaged, item is as described and the quality is as expected.
